Terri & Michael
Southport Yacht Club, Main Beach, QLD 4217
Terri and Michael’s spring wedding made the most of some of the Gold Coast’s most iconic locations.
Terri and her bridesmaids got ready at the stunning Sheraton Mirage. This gave us beautiful light for the bridal portraits followed by a shoot in among the fantastic architectural features of the complex. Michael and his groomsmen got ready at their private residence before heading down to the Southport Yacht Club for a pre-ceremony game of pool and a quick beverage.
Having a Southport Yacht Club wedding meant that both the ceremony and reception could be held there. This was great for the guests who enjoyed the incredible sunset views at the club with canapes and drinks, while we were able to head out to some of the most beautiful environment the Gold Coast has to offer for wedding photography – The Spit.
After the ceremony, storm clouds rolled in and it looked like we would miss out on the golden light at the end of the day. Despite this, the scene that the sky provided was sensational. We had dark and dramatic clouds on one side of us and light shining through on the other. Our first location stop was at the Cottonwoods where the trees come together to create encompassing spaces and a striking landscape that make for great images. We then headed out to the seaway to to take advantage of the impressive combination of the landscape and storm clouds.
We had just begun to head back to the reception when the sky cleared and the golden light of sunset poured down and of course we had to stop and capture just one last image (or two!).
Thanks for having us capture your day, Terri and Michael, it was a pleasure!
