Sarah & Gergely

Polly's Country Kitchen, Neranwood, QLD 4213

Sarah & Gergely’s Polly’s Country Kitchen wedding up in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland was spectacular. This venue is a gorgeous location for wedding photography with the natural environment providing endless opportunities to capture unique images and be creative with lighting.

The groom got ready at his place at Broadbeach while the bride got ready at Springbrook Mountain Chalet’s at Springbrook.  The atmosphere was a mix of nerves and excitement which was clearly contagious as when the ceremony began the ring bearer made it part way down the aisle before turning and making a run for it! He didn’t require too much coaxing to return with a big smile and the ceremony continued on with lots of laughs and smiles.

We headed down to the creek for some images after the ceremony and discovered that all the rain leading up to the wedding had ensured we had some beautiful water reflections to play with.  After we finished there we made the drive back down to the beach for some sunset shots. The drive was absolutely worth it. The sky was cloud free and gave us the most spectacular pink sunset sky. The tide was out and the reflections in the sand were perfect!   Fortunately all of them had their clothes rolled up during the bridal party portraits when I forgot to mention a rogue wave coming their way! Oops! Lucky for me I got the shot and they saw the humour and value of the moment  🙂

We stayed at the beach through twilight which made us a little late back to the reception, but the backlit image on the rocks with the deep blue sky is definitely a favourite for all of us and totally worth being a tad late.

Sarah and Gergely’s reception at Polly’s Kitchen was a festive and emotional night. With Gergely being from Hungary his parents had flown over for the wedding and the speeches, some in English and some in Hungarian, were very emotional especially given that his parents were heading back to Hungary soon after the wedding. The couple had their choice of four cakes to cut, with some in traditional Hungarian colours and patterns which added a beautiful personal touch to their night.

Thank you so much, Sarah and Gergely, for having us capture your wonderful day. We had a fabulous time!
